Warwick Academy emerged victorious from a whirlwind of action at the Bermuda School Sports Federation Primary School B Division Six-a-Side Tournament, culminating in a nail-biting final against rivals Saltus Grammar School.
The championship clash was a tense affair, with Saltus seizing the early initiative and peppering the Warwick goal with shots. However, they were met by an impenetrable wall in the form of Warwick goalkeeper Adam Pedro, whose string of spectacular saves kept Saltus at bay. Against the run of play, Warwick's Luke Readdy delivered the decisive blow, slotting the ball past the onrushing Saltus goalkeeper with a clinical finish that ultimately secured the Championship Trophy.
The road to the final was paved with excitement. Warwick stormed into the championship match with a convincing 3-1 victory over Harrington Sound Primary in the semi-final. Readdy, Billy Brogden, and Kash Butterfield spearheaded the attack, each finding the back of the net in the first half to establish a commanding lead. Although Maceo Woolridge pulled one back for Harrington Sound in the second half, Warwick's defense held firm to secure their place in the final.
In the other semi-final, Saltus Grammar School unleashed an offensive onslaught against Somersfield Academy, cruising to a 5-0 victory. Eli Oduntan led the charge with two goals, while Eddie Ross, Isaac Metchanabel, and Josh Cann also etched their names onto the scoresheet.
The battle for third place proved to be a tight contest, with Oscar Ofego's solitary strike earning Harrington Sound Primary a hard-fought 1-0 win over Somersfield Academy.
