Mixed Team Relay Triathlon Traffic Advisory

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Bermuda Triathlon Association will be holding a Road Race on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 between the hours of 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

The Race Route will commence at the Car Park at Clearwater Beach proceed in a northerly direction along Cooper Island Road. At the roundabout of Cooper Island Road, Pepper Hall Road and Southside Road take the first exit (i.e. left) then travel in a westerly direction along Southside Road.

A traffic cone will be placed in the middle of Southside Road before the junction of Southside Road and Tommy Fox Road, which is for cyclists to make a 'U' Turn. Cyclists will then return in an easterly direction along Southside Road back the same way to the roundabout with Cooper Island Road and Pepper Hall Road and will take the third exit (i.e. right turn) before continuing along Cooper's Island Road in a southerly direction along Cooper Island Road to complete the first lap. Racers will either complete two (2) or four (4) laps.

All motorists are expected to use caution and to avoid collisions with race participants. The race route will be under the control of Police Officers and Race Marshals.

Motorists must follow the instructions from the Police Officers and Race Marshals to assist with traffic control for this event.

The following roads will be closed during the race:

Southside Road from Tommy Fox Road to Pepper Hall Road, Cooper Island Road from Southside Road to Clearwater Beach Park.

There will be no parking restrictions for the triathlon. Motorists are permitted to park in designated parking bays along any part of the race route. Additionally, motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result. Should there be any questions regarding this event, please direct queries to the attention of the race representative, Geoff Smith, 747-2302.

In addition, the Bermuda police are hereby authorized to "Close off' streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.
