 Caleb McDowall and his Anderson Men's Soccer teammates after holding No. 11 Coker scoreless for 75 minutes of play, fell 1 - 0 following a Coker free kick just outside the box.
The opening 20 minutes of the match saw three shots apiece from Anderson and Coker, before Coker's offense pulled away to outshoot Anderson 6-1 for the remainder of the half. Their efforts were matched by Anderson's defense, however, and the scoreline stood even at 0 going into the break.
The first half-hour of the second half was an even battle between the two teams, with each side recording three shots and one corner kick. The matchup took a turn when a contentious Anderson foul led to an ejection and Coker free kick. Coker took advantage of the opportunity, as the service found the head of a Coker player and sailed into the back of the net, giving the No. 11 Coker a 1-0 lead.
