Peter Silvester and his Connecticut College Men's Soccer teammates battled tough against visiting Hamilton College, earning a 0 - 0 draw at Freeman Field.
With the draw, Connecticut College moves to 5-1-4 on the year and 2-1-4 in conference action, while Hamilton moves to 5-4-3 overall and 3-3-2 in conference play.
Connecticut College opened the contest with the first shot just 4 minutes into the match. Matt Scoffone let the shot go, but Finn Wheeler made the save. Five minutes later, Hamilton answered with their first shot, as Jude Rouhana forced a save from Silvester .
Marco Perugini forced a save in the 14th minute, before Elliot Spatz had the best chance of the half in the 18th minute. Spatz found himself in open space in front of goal, firing on the cage, but Wheeler came up with a massive save for Hamilton College. Connecticut College had the last look at goal in the half, as Scoffone was turned aside again as the game was scoreless at the break.
Both defenses upped their game in the second half, limiting chances on both ends. Connecticut College had another good look to open the scoring as a ball was played across goal, looking for Gavin Mpiana who just missed getting a touch and redirecting the ball into the net.
With just over 18 minutes remaining, Hamilton had their best look to break the deadlock, as Jameson Mannix was played in on goal, but Silvester came up with a fantastic save to tip the ball over the crossbar.
With time running down, Connecticut College increased the tempo trying to find a winner, and almost found it in the dying seconds, as Matt Quiros-Newton tried to cross the ball into the box, but Hamilton College came up with one more stop, as Connecticut College had to settle for the 0-0 final.
