After two successful years of World Cup, La Federación Chilena de Triatlón (FECHITRI) announced the launch of the Americas Triathlon Premium Cup Viña 2024, a unique and innovative event on the continent that seeks to maximize the benefits for our local athletes.
Bermuda Olympian Erica Hawley will see her first action since competing in France on November 3rd.
The World Cup fulfilled all its objectives: projecting Chile as a world leader in triathlon, providing opportunities for our athletes to accumulate points in the Olympic and world rankings, resulting in two qualifications for the Paris 2024 Games. In addition, we seek to bring high-level athletes to compete in our conditions, providing significant advantages to our triathletes over international competitors.
This year, aware of the needs of our triathletes in an Olympic year, and considering that many global athletes rest after the Games, FECHITRI introduces the first continental Americas Premium Cup. This format has already been successfully tested in Europe, with the famous Holten event in the Netherlands, and in Africa with the Premium Cup Larache in Morocco.
