The 2024 Comet Class Internationals Championship Regatta got underway off the Corsica River Yacht Club, in Maryland.
Six Bermuda sailors and their crew are taking part, after three races on Day One, the defending champion Jack Swikart, is the overall leader with 4 points, and two wins, and a second place finish, while the 1996 Edward Cross Long Distance race winner Mark Hess won the first race of the day and is in 3rd with 12 points.
Rudy Bailey, and his crew George Bailey lead the Bermuda fleet in 4th place with 14 points, Maxwell Curtis and his crew Wesley Tucker are in 6th, they also have 14 points. Dale Brangman and his crew Zane Hendrickson are in 11th place with 36 points, Zaniko Hendrickson and his crew Zanikae Hendrickson are in 13th place with 38 points, while Lorenzo Lambert and his crew Malahku Selassie are in 15th with 39 points, and Gregory Wade and his crew Jelani Carlington are in 17th with 47 points.
