Kamau Leverock and his Gujarat Greats teammates went down in a last ball thriller against the India Capitals in the Legends League Cricket 2024 at the Molana Azad Stadium, Jammu, India.
Batting first the Gujarat Greats scored 134/6 in their allotted 20 overs, Mohammad Kaif was the top scorer with 40, Leverock did not bat, while Iqbal Abdulla was the pick of the India Capitals bowlers returning figures of 4-0-24-3.
In reply the India Capitals needed 6 runs to win off the last over which saw Leverock bowling, the first ball produced no runs, 2nd, 3rd and 4th balls went for 1 run each, the fifth ball went for 2 runs to level the score with one ball to go, Leverock bowled to Ian Bell, and got a single to win. Bell was the top scorer with 41 not out, while Manan Sharma was the pic of the Gujarat Greats bowlers with figures of 4-0-24-4, Leverock finished with figures of 3-0-16-0.
