Caleb McDowall and his Anderson Men's Soccer teammates played their third game in six days, hosting Mars Hill for the first South Atlantic Conference contest on home turf this season. Anderson clinched their third-straight victory with a 2 - 1 win.
Anderson veteran Eloy Allimadi found his first goal of the 2024 season off a cross from Diego Jaramillo to put Anderson on top early.
The second half saw Mars Hill find the back of the net, though the score was only level 1-1 for three minutes before a foul just outside the goal box led to a devastating direct kick from freshman Juan Pablo Lepervanche. Lepervanche blasted one past the Mars Hill keeper, giving Anderson back the lead.
In goal for Anderson, Franco Antoniolli Funes boasted a season-high seven saves as Mars Hill recorded 14 shots, eight of which were on target.
