Eliza Dolittle Society to Benefit from Charity Cup

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) 2024/25 Charity Cup, presented by Lindo’s, brought excitement and community spirit to the Devonshire Recreation Club on Sunday, September 1st.

The PHC Zebras, the defending Senior Men’s Premier Division champions, secured a dominant 6 - 0 win over St. George’s Colts, the 2023/24 FA Challenge Cup champions.

The Charity Cup, signals the season start each year with the current FA Cup Champion playing the league champions from the previous season. It also serves a greater purpose beyond the game. Since the inception of the Charity Cup the BFA has made donations to charities throughout Bermuda. In an interesting twist, this year's match was dedicated to raising funds for charitable and benevolent causes selected by the participating clubs.

Charity Cup debutants, St Georges Colts chose the St John's ambulance. A worthy and previous recipient who can be seen at many sporting events volunteering their service. They are a familiar sight at football finals. Eight-time Charity Cup champions, PHC chose their Warwick neighbors, the Eliza DoLittle Society. Society’s mission is to provide healthy and nutritious solutions to the who experience food insecurity in Bermuda with the aim of enhancing their quality of life.

The Association hopes this initiative will deepen the positive impact the event has on the community.

The Eliza Dolittle Society will eventually receive a donation from the Association on behalf of the PHC Zebras as the 2024/25 Charity Cup Champions.

Lindo's Group of Companies, proud sponsor of the Senior Men's Cup Competitions, continues to support initiatives that benefit Bermuda's football community and charitable causes alike.

“The season opener has always provided excitement for fans who have been starved of local football since April. This year we have added a new element that will see a donation, determined by gate receipts, made to The Eliza Do Little Society on behalf of PHC. A great start to the season…. Just the way we like it!”, said BFA President, Mark Wade.
“Lindo’s proudly sponsors the BFA cup games again this year! Congratulations to PHC Zebras on winning last week’s Charity Cup! We fully support the BFA in their efforts to give back to our wider community through the Charity Cup! We look forward to the exciting season ahead and all the passion and drama that comes with it!”, said Lindo’s Manager, Zach Moniz.
