Warwick Football Academy U16 Boys Conclude Participation in the inaugural Texas Intenational Cup Tournament.
The WFA team entered match day 3 with the need to win against the #1 ranked team from Tulsa, Oklahoma to advance to the final on Sunday.
Warwick had recorded 2 wins and 1 loss, while Tulsa Soccer Club had 3 wins in the group matches prior to today.
The match up would be as intense as the heat and temperatures it was played in. The teams traded attacks and both defended with commitment and resistance to keep each other at bay during the first half, which failed to produce a goal.
Warwick were forced to weather a period of sustained pressure from the restart of the 2nd half, but refused to be broken before starting to claw its way back into the offensive mode.
The match would go down to the final secs with both teams resolute in their desire to achieve the needed outcome. At the full time whistle the 0 - 0 stalemate would be enough for Tulsa to advance to face off against Sting Soccer Club on Championship Sunday, but Warwick can be proud of their performances and results over the course of the tournament, finishing with 2 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw.
The team will enjoy a day of leisure on Sunday, before making the journey back home to welcome cooler temperatures on Monday.
