The Bermuda Power Boat Association’s National Championship Series at Ferry Reach was cut short with officials calling the day’s races off following an accident.
In videos circulating all around, boat BV-31 was seen crashing into one of the pylons stretching between Coney and Bailey’s Bay, which was used to support the railway bridge back in the day.
Video and pictures also show the boat being towed back to shore with heavy front damage to the boat, witnesses say that the pilot and co-pilot were both transported to the hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
