Lewis’ previous Personal Best time was 16:37, while the previous Americas Record was 16:23 set by Leann Shannon from the United States of America in 1997.

Lewis said to www.islandstats.com, “I feel on top of the world! My goal for this season was to get the America’s Record as it has stood since 1997. I have had some really frustrating 100’s this season so far that I had to mentally work through because I knew I had a lot more in me. This 16:12 today proves it.”
