Scott Barnes reflected on his performance during the Stars Championship Series event at the New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana.
Barnes told www.islandstats.com, “We had a bad weekend racing, ran top 6 speed overall (21 karts) weekend (1st in class), Qualified 6th. Heat one 6th overall (1st in class) … Heat two ran in 4th overall for most of the race, was running in 6th overall (1st in class) and my throttle cable broke with 2 laps to go.
The Pre-Final race was in the rain, and we got a DQ, the whole team got DQ’ed for being on the wrong compound rain tire, a mix-up by our team.
Finally, we had to start last due to DQ in Pre-Final, and then we had a wreck in the middle of the field on the start and we got collected in it and hit by another Kart which broke our front-end steering and retired from the race.
Overall a disappointing weekend, but that’s racing. We will bounce back, refocus, stay confident, and move on to the next one in two weeks in Ohio.”
