The 2023/24 Harness Pony Racing Season continued at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street on a day that saw Aron Simms retired Simmsfeild Hardtimes.
Tux as he’s known at home, won the 3-year-old stake races, and also won the 3-year-old Best of Three.
Simmsfeild Hardtimes had the fastest time of the year for the last three years, he was the first and only pony to go below a 1:02 six times in one season, and Last season he went under a 1:02 at least seven times, equaling the gelding record.
Simmsfeild Hardtimes has been one of the most consistent ponies on the track, and he’s known for his power finish to the wire.
