Omar Hayward was back in Boccia action competing in the Para Pan American Games in Chile.
Undefeated Hayward was back in action competing in the BC1 Individual Male Division Pool A, he would go up against World No. 5 Jose Carlos De Oliveria from Brazil.
At the end of the first end, Hayward and De Oliveria were level at 1 – 1, but De Oliveria would then take a 2 – 1 lead at the end of the second end.
De Oliveria would jump out to a 6 – 1 lead at the end of the third end, scoring four points in the third, but Hayward would stage a comeback in the fourth end with five points to level the match at 6 – 6, which forced a tie-breaker.
Hayward would win the tie-breaker 2-0 and advance to the Semi-Finals.
