Scott Barnes summed up his Super Karts USA Super Nats performance.
Barnes wrote on social media, “Leaving Vegas & the 2023 Super Karts USA Super Nats after a very disappointing race week. There are no moral victories in losing, losing is losing, & we didn’t get the job we came to get done, no 3rd podium in a row. Taken out of 2 Heat races, finally got the 5th place finish in Heat 3 but a mechanic mistake with the tires got us a DQ and the last place 47 starting spot for Super Sunday.
It would have been easy to just give up on Sunday, but I’m not built like that & we fought hard for the best result we could make out of an unlucky week. Coming from dead last to pass 33 karts and finish 14th was a fun race, but knowing we were a top 5 kart all week is frustrating. We’ll be back to Vegas in ‘24 the hungriest I’ve ever been to get this race done!
But to come out to the Biggest Karting race in the sport & run the top 5 all week with arguably one of the hardest Shifter Masters fields ever is a good feeling. Not having been in a kart for two months and before that another 4-month break
Next Year's racing is going to be a good one. I’m coming out more focused, more driven, and hungry to Win.”
