Having already brought you the results of Team Bermuda in the 13th Annual Baystar Clearwater Offshore Nationals, in Florida, today we bring you comments from Steven Bridges and David Selley.
Selley said, “It was a total dream come true. We just played it safe racing against 9 other boats was wild. Almost ended up with a podium finish with very limited time in the boat. The boat itself is a machine/ feels like an F1 car on the water. I have so much confidence in Bridges on the trim and throttle lane and I guess he has enough faith in me to hold the steering wheel, it was just an awesome opportunity, and I couldn’t have done it without the help and support we’ve received. It’s a team effort 100 %
During the race we didn’t want to get over aggressive, the main goal was just to finish man. We had a couple of close calls in the corners and have to respect the equipment, we just really went into it with low expectations.
We want to give a special thanks to all of our sponsors and help and S-1 crew for help and support, and the people back home that have made this possible
We are looking forward to Key West World Championships in November.
In conclusion, we learned a whole bunch, the seat time was invaluable and we wish there was another race we’d be that much more prepared.”
