The 14th FINA World Championships in Shanghai continued with Kiera Aitken taking to the water for the second time, while Roy-Allan Burch set a New National Record while seeing action for the first time.
Aitken competed in the Women's 50m Long Course Backstroke where she finished 39th with a time of 29.78.
Aitken again performed well finishing 2 tenths away from her best time.
Burch was up next in his first event the Men's 100m Long Course Freestyle, Burch clocked a time of 51.01 to finish 47th.
Burch was able to drop 7 tenths off his National Record and finish in second place in his heat. He was only 2 hundredth away from going under 51 for the first time.
Burch said, “I am pleased with this performance as my focus has been on the 50m Freestyle in 2 days.”
