Byte Championships Update

Day two of the Byte North American Championships held on the North Sound, Grand Cayman, saw four of the Bermuda sailors remain in the 11.

The regatta also serving as the Youth Olympic Qualifier for North America, sees a lead change after 5 races. Eugene Hendrikx from the Netherlands Antilles has taken over from Ian Barrows from US Virgin Islands. Bermuda's Rahiem Steede form continued with finishes of 5th, 6th & 6th in the day’s three races and he finds himself in 5th place overall with 19 points. Kalin Hillier fell from 4th to 8thwith 29 points, closely followed by Dimitri Stevens who is 9th with 34 points. Owen Siese is currently in 11th place, with Davis Alexander in 19th with 72 points. Mackenzie Cooper finds himself in 24th with 87 points.

The top 4 eligible countries will gain spots for the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore this August. Bermuda is firmly entrenched around the top of the leaderboard which bodes well for the rest of the event.
