Keishen Bean and the Ottawa Fury improved to 3-0-0 after handing the Ocean City Barons (4-1-1) their first loss of the season in the Fury's 2009 Home Opener.
Bean played only the last two minutes of the contest making his Ottawa Home debut in the Premier Development League.
Will Beauge opened the scoring at the Algonquin College Soccer Complex in the 14th minute when he converted a Martin Vickerton corner beating a sprawling Barons keeper giving the Fury the early 1-0 lead.
Both teams exchanged chances before the half was out, but it was the Fury leading after 45 minutes. Both teams came out with lightning pace to start the second half before the game fell into a lull after 70 minutes.
With both teams jarring for possession in the midfield the Fury finally broke through when Florian Decamps found himself alone on a breakaway beating the Barons keeper Tunde Ogunbiyi who was caught of his line. Decamps' first goal of the season gave the Fury some much needed breathing room as the held on for the 2-0 victory extending their home undefeated streak to 11 games (8-0-3).
Florian Decamps and PDL Team of the Week member Ladi Bushiri made their presence known early and often for the Fury, dominating control at both ends of the pitch as the Fury looked to improve on their 2-0-0 start to the 2009 season.
