Ty Hurdle and his Queens University of Charlotte Men's Volleyball teammates suffered a 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-21) loss to King University (Tenn.) inside Curry Arena. King, the three-time reigning Conference Carolinas regular-season champions, hit .350 on offense and were led by senior Joshua Kim with 16 kills and a .500 hitting performance on the right side. Queens struggled offensively and hit .133 as the Tornado collected 11 total blocks. After a win in the first set, King hit .538 in the second to claim a 2-0 match advantage. Queens led early in the third set, 6-4, following a service ace from sophomore Daniel Leitao, but a 4-1 run but King ahead by one point. Queen quickly went back in front and held a 17-16 lead, however, the Tornado used four unanswered points to go in front by a 20-17 score. King held on for the match win, scoring five of the match's final seven points. Three Queen players finished with six kills each in seniors Tristan Santoyo and JP Payne and freshman Fletcher Murphy. Murphy hit .444 in the middle and Payne followed with a .417 hitting mark of his own.
