Spine & Sport 6 ACT 3
Spine & Sport set the tone for the night with an emphatic 6-3 victory over ACT, driven by a masterclass in finishing from Fenske.
The talismanic forward was in irresistible form, netting three times to dismantle the ACT defence. Brett Shirreffs, James Amaral, and Robert Osbourne also found the target with a goal apiece to ensure Spine & Sport maintained control throughout.
ACT battled hard to stay in touching distance, finding the net through Chris Merritt, Alex Bordage, and Townie Jackson, but they were unable to contain their opponents' relentless pressure in the final third.
Alexandra Mosher 7 BDA Spirits 6
The goals continued to flow in the second fixture of the evening, which produced an absolute classic as Alexandra Mosher edged out BDA Spirits by the barest of margins.
Mosher spread the offensive burden effectively, with Tom Duggan, Nathan Kowalski, and Richard Campbell all registering two goals each. A solitary strike from James VanSickle proved decisive in tilting an extraordinary contest in their favour.
BDA Spirits mounted a ferocious challenge of their own in an encounter that swung back and forth until the final buzzer. Shane Matchett led their reply with a well-taken brace, while Josh Prodger, Jeff Loper, Ben Wilshaw, and Kyle Hankins each chipped in with a goal in a valiant effort that just fell short of forcing extra time.
