Alexandra Mosher and Positive Image Dental both picked up hard-fought victories as a goal-heavy Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League double-header produced 16 goals at the PCC Hockey Rink.
In the evening's opening clash, Alexandra Mosher displayed clinical finishing to see off CG 3-1 in a tightly contested affair.
Mosher spread their scoring evenly across the frontline, with Louis Sujir, John Duda, and Tom Duggan all getting on the scoresheet to establish control of the contest.
CG remained competitive throughout, but Bill McClure’s lone strike proved insufficient to bridge the gap against a disciplined defensive rearguard.
The second match of the night delivered non-stop end-to-end action, with Positive Image Dental outlasting Hamilton Princess 8-6 in an enthralling encounter.
Positive Image Dental relied on an exceptionally balanced offensive assault, with four different players registering two goals apiece.
Two goals from Ross Rufiange, Randy Elgersma, Chris Allington, and Fannie Grenier dismantled the Hamilton Princess backline and gave Dental the cushion needed to absorb a furious opposing attack.
Hamilton Princess contributed fully to the spectacle, spearheaded by a brilliant hat-trick from Matthew Benson. Matthew Ingleman chipped in with a brace of his own and Andrew Leavy added another, but despite racking up six goals, Princess could not close down the spaces at the back to salvage a share of the spoils.
