The Bermuda Ball Hockey League delivered a frantic night of action at the PCC Hockey Rink as sixteen goals were shared across a double-header defined by a miraculous turnaround and a defensive masterclass.
Spine & Sport 6 Positive Image Dental 4
The opening fixture provided the drama of the season so far as Spine & Sport staged a sensational final-period recovery to defeat Positive Image Dental 6-4. For the first two periods, Positive Image Dental appeared to be in total control.
Ross Rufiange opened the scoring in the first, and although Jake Fenske momentarily leveled for Spine & Sport, Jordan Gunter restored the Dental lead before the first whistle.
When Rufiange added his second of the night and Louis Sujir found the net in the middle frame, Spine & Sport looked buried at 4-1 down. However, the final period saw a complete collapse from the league leaders.
Ryan Bates ignited the spark before Christopher Merritt and Mathieu Desjardins pulled Spine & Sport level. With the momentum firmly behind them, Jake Fenske took over, scoring twice in the dying minutes to complete his hat-trick and seal an improbable comeback victory.
BDA Spirits 6 Hamilton Princess 0
The nightcap proved to be a far more one-sided affair as BDA Spirits put on a clinical display to shut out Hamilton Princess 6-0. The Spirits' defensive unit was impenetrable throughout, providing the perfect platform for their attackers to dismantle the Princess backline. Jeff Loper set the tone with the only goal of the first period, before the floodgates opened in the second.
Davinder Jaggers doubled the advantage before Jeffrey Ingelman struck a dagger into the Princess' hopes with a goal just three seconds before the second intermission.
The final period was a mere formality as Stefan Chamberland added a fourth, before Loper and Jaggers both secured their braces to round off a dominant six-goal victory. The result leaves Hamilton Princess searching for answers, while BDA Spirits move forward with their title credentials firmly intact.
