The PCC Hockey Rink became a theatre of high-octane drama this weekend as the Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League delivered a goal-scoring masterclass across two pulsating fixtures. With seventeen goals finding the back of the net and a tense shootout required to decide the night’s marquee matchup, the local faithful were treated to a spectacle of offensive grit and clinical finishing.
ACT 4 Hamilton Princess 6
The opening contest saw the Hamilton Princess secure a hard-fought 6–4 victory over ACT in a game defined by the individual brilliance of Jean-Michael Tremblay.
Tremblay opened the scoring in a cagey first period before the floodgates opened in the second and third sessions. Despite a resilient double from ACT’s James Amaral, the Princess maintained their edge through strikes from Kyle Hankins, Riley Latour, and Bill Calko.
Tremblay ultimately proved the difference-maker, completing a clinical hat-trick to stave off late pressure from ACT’s Hart Freedman and Luca Papania.
BDA Spirits 3 CG 4
The evening’s second fixture provided even greater tension as CG edged BDA Spirits in a 4–3 thriller that went the distance. CG appeared to be in total control early on as Danny Hudson and Dallas Montgomery fired them into a two-goal lead during the first period.
However, the Spirits mounted a spirited comeback in the second, with Mathieu Ingelman and Mathieu Lorrain leveling the scores to set up a frantic final frame.
Ingelman struck again in the third to give the Spirits the lead, but CG’s Owen Siese found a late equaliser to force the game into overtime.
After a scoreless period of extra time where neither side could find the breakthrough, it was Siese who stepped up once more. His clinical execution in the shootout secured the extra point for CG, bringing a dramatic end to a weekend that showcased the very best of Bermuda’s winter hockey scene.
