Twenty-Goal Thriller as Winter League Drama Hits PCC Rink

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League served up a spectacular night of offensive fireworks at the PCC Hockey Rink this week as a combined twenty goals were netted across a high-octane double-header. While the opening fixture was defined by clinical dominance, the nightcap provided one of the season’s most dramatic finishes, requiring a shootout to separate the sides.

Spine & Sport 1 Hamilton Princess 6

The evening began with a comprehensive performance from Hamilton Princess, who dismantled Spine & Sport in a one-sided 6–1 victory.

Jeremie Faucher and Jean-Michael Tremblay set the tone in the opening period, giving the Princess an early cushion. Bill Calko extended the lead in the second frame before a dominant final period saw Mitch Allan net twice and Tremblay complete his brace.

A late consolation from Jake Fenske was the only blemish on an otherwise flawless night for the Hamilton side.

ACT 6 Alexandra Mosher 7

If the first game was a masterclass in control, the second was a chaotic goal-fest between ACT and Alexandra Mosher that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. Moad Fahmi’s double and a strike from Chris Hodgson gave Mosher a dream start, but ACT refused to go quietly, responding through James Amaral and Chris Jackson to leave the game poised at 3–2 after the first.

ACT appeared to seize control in the second period, outscoring Mosher three-to-zero with goals from Amaral, Samuel Vieira, and Anthony Kapsimalis. However, the momentum shifted once more in the final period as Chris Jackson netted for ACT, only for Matt Mcphail to score twice and Brett Shirreffs once to drag Mosher level at 6–6.

After a tense and scoreless overtime period, the match moved to a shootout to determine the winner. It was left to Brett Shirreffs to find the decisive goal, successfully finding the back of the net to secure a hard-fought 7–6 victory for Alexandra Mosher and cap off a breathless night of hockey.
