The PCC hockey rink played host to an explosive night of Bermuda ball hockey action as a high-scoring double-header saw the back of the net ripple 22 times across two pulsating fixtures.
BDA Spirits 4 CG 2
In the evening's opening clash, BDA Spirits demonstrated clinical finishing to secure a 4-2 victory over CG.
The contest ignited in a frantic first period that saw three goals scored in quick succession. While Nathan Kowalski provided an early spark for CG, BDA Spirits responded with authority through strikes from Fanie Grenier and Stefan Chamberland.
After a scoreless and defensive second period, Mathieu Ingelman took center stage in the final period, netting a crucial brace to pull his side clear. A late effort from CG's Jeremy Estey proved to be a mere consolation as the Spirits held firm to claim the points.
Alexandra Mosher 5 ACT 11
The goal-scoring intensity shifted into an even higher gear for the nightcap, where ACT produced a ruthless offensive display to dismantle Alexandra Mosher in an 11-5 triumph.
The tone was set in a relentless opening period as ACT surged ahead with five goals courtesy of Bruce Jackson, Anthony Kapsimalis, Shane Matchett, and a double from Samuel Vieira, while Troy Marchand kept Mosher in touching distance.
Despite valiant efforts from Matt Mcphail and Akhil Kapur to keep the contest competitive in the second period, ACT continued to find gaps in the defense.
Samuel Vieira completed his hat-trick while Bruce Jackson and Chris Cairns added to the mounting tally. The final period belonged entirely to Cairns, who showcased incredible form by adding a further three goals to his personal haul.
Although Chris Hodgson and Mcphail managed to add to the Mosher total, they were ultimately overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the ACT attack in a match that provided relentless entertainment for the spectators at the PCC.
