The race for the Mixed Majors Bowling League title took a dramatic turn at Warwick Lanes this week as a high-stakes clash at the top of the table resulted in a new leader. In a decisive encounter, the previous frontrunners, Spare Change, were dismantled by Fight Back, who secured a commanding 16–4 victory.
The ten-point swing has propelled Fight Back to the summit, where they now hold a crucial four-point cushion over their rivals as the season moves into its business end.
Further down the standings, the battle for the podium spots intensified. Fourth-placed Thunderbolts made a significant statement by closing the gap on Unpredictable in third. The Thunderbolts produced a clinical display to record a 15.5–4.5 win, putting the third-place spot firmly within their sights.
It was also a productive night for Mix Ups, who solidified their sixth-place standing with a comprehensive 16.5–3.5 defeat of Movers "N" Shakers. Meanwhile, the night’s biggest surprise came lower in the table, where seventh-placed Activators pulled off a resilient upset against fifth-placed Warriors, edging the contest 12–8.
As the league standings tighten, the pressure shifts back to the chasing pack to respond to Fight Back's new-found dominance at the top.
