High-Octane Return for Ball Hockey Winter League

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League season burst back into life this week with a goal-laden double-header at the PCC Hockey Rink. A total of 15 goals were notched across two fiercely contested matches as the league officially moved into its second-half sprint.

ACT 7 BDA Spirits 3

The standout performance of the evening came from third-placed ACT, who secured a commanding 7-3 victory over BDA Spirits.

ACT wasted no time asserting their dominance in the opening period, with Luca Papania and James Amaral finding the back of the net early on. Although Nathan Ische pulled one back for the Spirits, ACT pulled away in the second frame behind strikes from Samuel Vieira and Shane Matchett.

The floodgates remained open in the final period as Luca Papania scored his second. Despite late resistance from the Spirits—including goals from Andrew Bonner and Jeff Loper—Samuel Vieira and Matchett each added a second to their tallies to ensure ACT walked away with all three points, keeping the pressure on the league's top two.

Hamilton Princess 2 Alexandra Mosher 3

The night’s second fixture was a much tighter encounter, as Alexandra Mosher held off a resilient Hamilton Princess to secure a 3-2 win. All five goals in the match came during a frantic opening period that saw the momentum swing back and forth.

Mike Brennan and Shannon Gosse gave Mosher a dream start, only for Hamilton Princess’s Jean-michael Tremblay to fire back with a quick-fire double to level the scores. However, Adam Mattatall struck late in the first period to restore Mosher's lead.

In a rare tactical shift for the league, both defences reigned supreme for the remainder of the contest. Despite relentless pressure from the Princess in the final two frames, Mosher's backline held firm to record a scoreless second and third period, securing a vital victory that keeps them firmly in the title hunt.

The results leave league leaders Positive Image Dental with a four-point cushion at the summit, but with ACT and Alexandra Mosher both finding their scoring touch, the race for the 2026 title is very much alive.
