The Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League Play-off’s Semi-Finals got underway with two contrasting encounters at the PCC Hockey Rink, featuring a goal-laden affair between ACT and Spine & Sport, which saw ACT take a 1-0 lead, and a more controlled victory for BDA Spirits over Hamilton Princess as they also took a 1 - 0 lead.

The match between ACT and Spine & Sport was a thrilling, back-and-forth contest, particularly in a lively first period that saw six goals scored.
Spine & Sport drew first blood early, Jeremy Estey finding the net at 1:00, assisted by Ross Rufiage. ACT responded swiftly, Adam Mattatall equalising at 4:21, with Chris Cairns and Mike Travis providing the assists. Spine & Sport regained the lead at 5:50 through another strike from Jeremy Estey, this time assisted by Ross Rufiage and Ryan Marshall. ACT levelled again at 8:19, Townie Jackson scoring with assists from Adam Mattatall and Mike Travis. Spine & Sport edged ahead once more at 14:40, Caiden Millet finding the back of the net, assisted by Randy Elgersma. ACT then scored twice in quick succession, Theo Caimassidis at 15:55 (assisted by Bill McClure) and another from Townie Jackson at 16:15 (assisted by Chris Cairns and Mike Travis), giving ACT a 4-3 lead at the end of a pulsating opening period.
In the Second Period, despite the frantic pace of the first period, the second saw a lull in scoring, with neither team able to find the net.
The scoring resumed in the final period, with ACT extending their lead through Mike Travis at 1:48, assisted by Townie Jackson. Townie Jackson completed his hat-trick at 4:59, Adam Mattatall and Mike Travis again providing the assists. Spine & Sport mounted a late comeback attempt with two quick goals from Ryan Marshall at 17:58 and 18:00, both assisted by Ross Rufiage and Jeremy Estey. However, Theo Caimassidis sealed the victory for ACT with a late goal.
Hamilton Princess 1 BDA Spirits 5
The second match of the day saw BDA Spirits secure a more comfortable victory over Hamilton Princess, with the goals spread throughout the periods.
BDA Spirits took control in the first period with two goals. Andrew Bonner opened the scoring at 11:20, assisted by Robbie Bailey and Ryan Bates. Sean Mcnulty doubled their lead just before the buzzer at 18:00, with Brett Sherriffs and Robbie Bailey providing the assists.
BDA Spirits continued their momentum in the second period, with Ben Wilshaw scoring at 11:20, assisted by Stefan Chamberland. Hamilton Princess pulled one back at 15:50 through an unassisted effort from Moad Fahmi. However, BDA Spirits quickly restored their two-goal advantage with another strike from Ben Wilshaw at 19:10, assisted by Jean-Michael Tremblay.
BDA Spirits wrapped up the victory with a single goal in the final period. Robbie Bailey found the net at 17:20, assisted by Andrew Bonner and Ben Wilshaw, securing a 5-1 win for his team.
