The Michael Preece Softball Diamond was once again the scene of high-octane action as a Bermuda Softball Association triple header saw a staggering 78 runs scored across the three games.
The opening contest set the tone for the night as the Paraquet Flyers soared to a 24-6 victory over Hakuna Matata Lions. Edgar Guerrero led the Flyers' offensive onslaught, going 3-for-5 at the plate, including a double and a home run, while driving in five runs (5RBI’s). Steve O’Flynn also had a productive night for the Flyers, collecting 4RBI’s as part of his 4-for-5 performance which included two doubles. For Hakuna Matata Lions, Marco Almeida managed a home run and 4RBI’s, going 1-for-4.
The second game of the evening saw the Moongate Brewers continue the run-fest, defeating the Beach Bums 17-1 in a dominant display. Jeremy Esty was the star for the Brewers, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, hitting two home runs and driving in five runs (5RBI’s). Shawn Furlong also contributed significantly with 4RBI’s, going 3-for-4 with a home run. Corey Simons managed the sole RBI for the Beach Bums, going 1-for-2.
The final game of the night maintained the high-scoring trend as Platano Power overcame the Kings 20-10. Luis Antonio Adon led the way for Platano Power, driving in five runs (5RBI’s) as part of his 3-for-5 performance. John Ralph had a strong night for the Kings, going 4-for-4 with a double and a home run, contributing 2RBI’s.
