The Michael Preece Softball Diamond witnessed a high-scoring triple header as the local softball season continued with a flurry of runs across the three matches.
The opening game saw Western Stars Angels emerge victorious in a closely fought contest against the PHC Zebras, claiming a 12-8 win. Rickelle Smith was the standout player for the Angels, going 2-for-4 at the plate, including a triple, and driving in four runs (4RBI’s). For PHC, Tache King also had a productive night with the bat, going 2-for-4 with a double and 2RBI’s.
The second game of the evening was a more one-sided affair, as the Rainbows unleashed a dominant offensive display to secure a resounding 27-0 victory over the Power Pitchers. The Rainbows' bats were on fire throughout the game. Adrienne Smatt had an exceptional night, going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, and 4RBI’s. Ashley Borges also contributed significantly, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and also driving in four runs (4RBI’s).
The nightcap provided another competitive matchup as Southampton Rangers edged out Home None with a 14-7 victory. Malachi Jones led the offensive charge for the Southampton Rangers, going 2-for-4 with a double and 4RBI’s. Despite the loss for Home None, Darin Flood had an impressive individual performance, going 3-for-3 at the plate, including a double, a home run, and 3RBI’s.
The triple header at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond showcased the offensive firepower present in the local league, with plenty of runs and strong individual performances highlighting the ongoing excitement of the softball season.
