Bermuda's Volleyball talent was on display at the Nike Boston Volleyball Festival at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, with several teams representing the island.
The Big Wave Riders Under-16 team had a mixed start to the tournament. They opened with a hard-fought win against Legacy Boys 16 Premier 25-16, 23-25, 15-12 but then fell to Husky 16 Hammers 25-18, 26-24. They recovered with a win in the Round 1 Crossover Bracket 3, defeating Mass Pats Boys 16 25-18, 25-23.
The Big Wave Riders Under-14 team also experienced a range of results. They lost their opener to UVC Boys 14 Blue 25-23, 25-18 but bounced back with a win against Smash Boys 14 Thunder 25-22, 25-13. Their third match resulted in another loss, this time to Sportime 14 team 25-18, 25-18.
The Paradise Hitters Under-16 team faced a tough start, suffering three consecutive defeats. They fell to Northeast 16 Orange 25-15, 25-18, GSEVC 16 National Blue 25-15, 26-24, and CT Stars 16 Willie 25-21, 15-25, 15-8.
The Paradise Hitters 14 Grey team also struggled in their opening matches. They lost to 516 Elite 14 Silver 25-20, 25-23 and Hardrock 14 Black 25-5, 25-9. They then moved to the Round 1 Crossover, where they lost to 516 Elite 14 Ruby 25-5, 25-9.
The Paradise Hitters 14 Blue team had a more positive start. They won their first match against CRVBC 14 Condors 25-18, 25-20 but then lost to Mass Pat 14 Hustle 20-25, 25-19, 16-14. They finished their third match with a win against Fury 14 team 25-18, 25-16.
Finally, the Paradise Hitters Under-12s had a mixed bag of results. They lost their opener to CT STARS 12s Lidania 25-12, 25-12 but then bounced back with two wins, defeating Downstate 12 Cobras 25-16, 25-14 and Jaguars 12 Black 25-8, 25-6.
