ACT drew first blood in the opening period with a goal from Ian Beaudoin. But the Hamilton Princess stormed back with a vengeance, rattling off three unanswered goals. James Vansickle scored twice, while Richard Campbell added another to give the Princess a 3-1 lead.
The second period saw ACT roar back into contention. Beaudoin completed his hat-trick with two more goals, but Campbell responded with his second of the game to maintain a slim 4-3 advantage for the Princess heading into the final frame.
The third period was an absolute rollercoaster. ACT took the lead with goals from Jake Fenske, Satish Balendran, and John King. Just when it seemed like ACT had wrestled control, the Princess responded with a late surge.
