Bermuda's Sean Tucker and Kyle Hamilton continued their campaign in the ninth and final stage of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour in San José, Costa Rica, facing tough competition on the sand courts of La Sabana Metropolitan Park.
Despite battling hard, the Bermudian duo couldn't secure a victory in their remaining pool play match and subsequent classification match.
In their third Pool D encounter, Tucker and Hamilton faced Devin Van Siclen and William Clemens from the Virgin Islands. The Virgin Islands pair proved too strong, taking the match 2-0 (21-16, 21-11) in a 30-minute battle.
The loss placed Tucker and Hamilton in the Classification 13/16 match, where they faced Luis Augusto and Santiago Penagos Hernandez from Guatemala. This match proved to be a thrilling three-set affair, with momentum swinging back and forth.
Augusto and Hernandez took the first set 21-15, but Tucker and Hamilton responded with a gutsy performance in the second, edging out their opponents 22-20 to level the match. However, the Guatemalan duo regained control in the decisive third set, winning 15-10 to claim victory.
Despite the defeats, Tucker and Hamilton demonstrated resilience and determination throughout the tournament. They faced top-tier competition from across North, Central America, and the Caribbean, gaining valuable experience on the International stage.
