The 2024 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, being played at the Paseo Xolotlán court in Managua got underway.
Bermuda pair, Megan Hands and Kayley Hamilton went 1 & 2 in Women’s Pool A action, while Braedon Cooke and Connor Somerville went 0 & 3 on the opening day in Men’s Pool C.
Hands and Hamilton took on Katherine Quesada and Eugenia Ramírez from Costa Rica falling 21-10, 21-3.
Socorro López and Lolette Rodríguez from Nicaragua would then defeat Hands and Hamilton 21-4, 21-4.
Hands and Hamilton would pick up a win as the Cayman Islands forfeited their matches in Pool A.
Diego Perez and Ryan Lerna from the USA won all three of their matches in Pool C to advance. They defeated Cooke and Somerville 2 – 0, with scores of 21-6, 21-8.
Rouzbeh Rahnavard and Tynan Gannet from Canada finished second in the group they picked up a 2 - 0 against Cooke and Somerville 21-15, 21-6.
In their finish match of the day, Cooke and Somerville would fall 2 – 0 to David Vargas and Gabriel Vargas from El Salvador 21-10, 21-10.
