The NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour made a return after 13 years to the City of San Salvador, with Bermuda’s Brandon Sousa and Benjamin Barnett taking to the Beach Sports Stadium of Flor Blanca Sports Complex in San Salvador, El Salvador.
On the men’s side, 16 teams are set to compete, Miguel Sarabia and Juan Virgen from Mexico, champions of the Central American and Caribbean Games here in El Salvador, won the third stage of the tour in the Cayman Islands and kicked off the season in Aguascalientes with a silver medal.
Sousa and Barnett took on Marc Lomeli and Anthony Pippen from the U.S Virgin Islands in their opener, the Bermuda pair would fall 2 – 0 in a 32-minute battle 21-10, 21-16.
In their second match, Sousa and Barnett took on Jake MacNeil and Alexander Russell from Canada, MacNeil and Russell won the match 2 – 0 in 28 minutes 21-12, 21-11.
