The season opener resulted in 9 goals as the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Winnipeg Jets 6 – 3. the Montreal Canadiens got a hat-trick from Chris Coleman and single strikes from Bill Calko, Chris Allington and Anthony Kapsimalis, while the Winnipeg Jets got two goals off the stick of Jeffery Morash and a single strike from Matt Benson.

Ottawa Senators 5 Edmonton Oilers 2

The Ottawa Senators got single strikes from Criag Rowat, Andrew Curnow, Cory Caouette, Ed Sweeney and Ian Beaudion in their 5 2 win over the Edmonton Oilers, who got goals from Hugh Vickers and Jon Talbot.

Toronto Maple Leafs 4 Vancouver Canucks 8

The third game produced the most goals thus far on the season with the Vancouver Canucks defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs 8 – 4. The Vancouver Canucks were led to victory by Ross Rufiange who scored two goals, while Dustin Luck, Christopher Jackson, Andrew Leavy, Darren Maksymetz, Nathan Kowalski and Shannon Goose all added their names to the scoresheet. The Toronto Maple Leafs got 2 goals apiece off the sticks of Warren miller and Brian White.

Calgary Flames 2 Winnipeg Jets 9

The final game saw the Winnipeg Jets defeat the Calgary Flames 9 – 2, the Winnipeg Jets had Jermy Estey find the back of the net four times, while Matt Benson scored a hat-trick, Matt Katzsch and Shawn McKee scored the other two goals, while Robbie Bailey scored twice for the Calgary Flames.
