IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Hockey Academy Islanders TWO Team are currently 5th in the North East Field Hockey Association (NEFHA) Men’s League.

Islanders One 3 Islanders Two 4

Islanders Two started the game strongly and quickly took the lead in the 5th minute with a Field Goal from Donovan Simmons. Islanders One fought their way back into the game and drew level in the 12th minute from a Penalty Corner with the ball slotted into the back of the net off the rebound after the initial save by the goal keeper. Islanders Two retook the lead in the 24th minute with a Field Goal by Nathan Simons whose goal was well earned after a number of hard fought runs through the middle field. Islanders One quickly tied the game in the 26th minute off of a well executed set play from a free hit just outside the circle. Islanders One almost took the lead less than two minutes later but were foiled by a last second clearance of the ball off the line by defender Aizaya Smith. Islanders Two went back in front just before the end of the first half with a well executed Penalty Corner scored by Hemijah Bean who deflected the ball into the net off of a drag flick by Simmons.

Islanders Two would start the second half of very strongly as well, but squandered several chances and would pay for those missed chances in the 48th minute when Islanders One tied the game up through a Field Goal. Islanders Two continued to apply pressure throughout the remainder of the game and were rewarded for their efforts in the 58th minute with a Field Goal from Zahkari Minors who slotted the ball into the net just under the keepers pads. Islanders One would have one last chance to tie the game but were denied by a brilliant save from the goal keeper.

Greenwich One 9 Islanders Two 0

Playing their second game of the day in hot and humid conditions the Islanders Two team had a difficult time against a fresh and lively Greenwich One squad. Greenwich One dominated the first half with quick counter attacking hockey taking advantage of a tired Islanders Two midfield with Field Goals in the 4th, 8th and 22nd minutes of the first half and Penalty Corner goals in the 10th, 18th and 29th minutes to take a 6-0 lead into half time. It was a tale of two halves and after some tactical adjustments at half time, islanders two fought their way back into the game and had several chance to score in the opening 20 minutes of the second half. Despite this effort islanders were unable to score and eventually conceded goals in the 54th, 58th and 60th minute of the game to make the final score 9-0.
