A day after www.islandstats.com announced she was a part of the Bermuda Womenís National Hockey team Maha Clarke and her Queens University of Charlotte Field Hockey teammates welcomed Molloy College to Bessant Field on a rainy afternoon winning 8-0. Kayleigh Lawrence, a senior, led Queens in their scoring efforts with a hat trick while Clarke, Abby Carls, Korey Fine, Jill Sherman, and Renee Smith all added a goal each. Miranda Childers played 70 minutes in goal recording one save.
Queens got going early as Lawrence found the back of the cage twice in the opening 10 minutes of action to put the home team in front 2-0. Fine would net Queens' third of the day soon after and the 3-0 score held until the halftime break. Molloy goalkeeper Tara Byrnes totaled 14 saves in the period.
Lawrence got Queens going in the second as well with a goal just 53 seconds into play. Carls' goal would follow in the 41st before Smith tallied her eighth of the season in the 57th. Sherman and Clarke then put two more on the board in the final 10 minutes of regulation.
Queens handled possession for much of the game outshooting Molloy College 33-5. Twenty-seven of the shots were on goal.
