The National Sports Center is a scene of destruction and devastation, with debris everywhere, Bernie Esbell the Interim CEO who we spoke to on Monday following the blow from Tropical Storm Fay and his staff at the Sports Center, were feeling the strain from the weather.
The Violent Hurricane caused widespread damage and destruction to National Sports Center Facility and Building at the North Field.
Asbell said, “The cost at this time is unknown, however the sum could go well above the hundreds of thousands of dollar mark.”
Workers have begun dismantling the poles which lay around the grounds, Bleachers are destroyed and intertwined into the fence on the frog lane side of the field, poles lay bent and would more than likely be deemed unusable.
Glass is scattered all in the grass and the cleanup could take a considerable amount of time with the pieces of class in the grass.
With the world rugby classic set to get underway in 20 days’ time the race to find a solution as to where the event will be held is underway.
