The Bermuda Rugby Football Union (BRFU) has announced the return of the Youth National Program - which begins for a new season on Sunday September 18th, from 10.30am-12.00pm at Police Field. The program is $75 for season and is open for boys and girls aged between 6 - 16 years old of all experience and abilities to take part in structured rugby activity.
Patrick Calow, BRFU Youth Development Officer, said “Sunday Rugby has been the foundation of Youth Rugby in Bermuda for many years and it’s been fantastic to see growth and development of both the players and program year to year.”
Last year, U9’s - U12’s went on tour to UK and the U14’s when to Bahamas to compete in Youth Caribbean tournament respectively.
Calow continued, “With the success this year of Rugby 7’s in the Olympics in Rio this summer, it’s exciting time for World Rugby. Whilst we have ambitions to see our athletes compete in that arena one day, it is essential for them to enjoy the sport and have fun with their friends in a structured environment that allows them to do so - this is exactly what Sunday Rugby is about.”
