Flora Duffy On the Mend

IslandStats.com
Via Social Media Bermuda Olympian Flora Duffy wrote, “Just like that, 3 tougher weeks done. The first 14 days following Arzachena WC were really solid, felt great, and started to get excited for the PTO Champs in December.

Really out the blue, I woke on a Monday and felt some acute inflammation at the back of my knee. After 3 easy days, I got a second opinion from Ferran Abat (thanks for the recommendation Jan Frodeno). He arranged an MRI, and by the next morning removed a good bit of fluid with a syringe. Thankfully the bone and tendon seems not too serious. And mostly it was two cysts applying pressure that was causing the pain.

I was conservative, pulled from Valencia WC, and started corrective exercises and treatment as best I could.

We were meant to fly to Boulder on Sunday but had not yet received our needed “NIE” clearance. An additional approval needed for travel between Schengen States and the US since the March 23rd Presidential Proclamation is still in effect. We got one previously within 72hours. It has been 3 weeks. So bitterly frustrating and destabilizing.

I do not have my Shiv here, and now only have 3 weeks before the PTO. But still waiting for the email confirmation of the NIE. Do we pack, do we stay? Do we just call it a year?

Oh well, Vincent Luistri has leant me this Game Ready and for now, I’m doing a little more couch time than usual. Netflix recommendations?!”
