Following her performance in the Senior Women’s Elite race in the 2017 Malmö European Triathlon Union’s European Sprint Cup Triathlon in Malmo, Sweden, Erica Hawley spoke with www.islandstats.com.
Hawley who was recovering from food poisoning after the race said, “The race went really well and I'm really happy with my result.”
“I had a pretty rocky summer of racing with crashes and injuries so was just happy to have a good race. Going into the race I had only swum 10 days before after taking over a month off due to a shoulder injury so I was nervous on how things would play out,” continued Hawley.
Hawley went on to say, “I still managed to come out with people and bike with a pack so that was good. I'm also happy with how my run was.”
Hawley concluded, “I know that my swim needs to build up again so I will be focusing on that these next couple of months but all in all the race went smoothly.”
