Bermuda youngsters took to The Club at White Oaks, Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada, for Day One of the Canadian Junior Open.
Owen Rosorea won his Under 15 Boy’s Division opener 3 – 1, he would come from behind to defeat Jack Comeau 4-11, 12-10, 11-6, 11-5. Rosorea would then face Yusuf Matti-Alvarez from Canada in the Round of 32, Rosorea would fall 3 – 0 falling 11-0, 11-0, 11-0.
In the Under 17 Boy’s Division Andrew Cox went down 3 – 0 to Jain Ethan from Canada 11-1, 11-4, 11-6, while Ethan Rosorea went down 3 – 0 to Jack Jones from Canada 11-4, 11-2, 11-3.
Playing in the Under 15 Girls Division, Rose Paulos went down 3 - 0 to Ella Cao from Canada 11-2, 11-2, 11-2. Olivia Sherratt would fall 3 – 0 to Zoe Chong from Canada 11-2, 11-1, 11-4.
Ariana Lowther went down 3 – 0 to Keira Rawlins from Canada in the Under 19 Girls Division 11-9, 11-2, 11-4.
Taylor Carrick would go down 3 – 2 in the Men’s NextGen Satellite Singles Division to Matt Bicknell 11-2, 9-11, 11-7, 10-12, 11-3.
In the Women’s NextGen Satellite Singles Division, Abigail Brewer went down 3 – 0 to Sydney Maxwell from Canada 11-3, 11-2, 11-2.
