Matthew Elliott began competing in the Midlands Shield Squash Championships, representing Loughborough University, at the University of Warwick Squash Center.
In the Group Stage first match, Loughborough defeated Warwick Seconds 5 – 0, Elliott playing as the number 1 seed won his match in a best-of-three format 11-4, 11-6.
Group Stage second match Loughborough defeated Warwick’s first Team 5 – 0, Elliott won his match 12-10, 11-4.
Group Stage third match Loughborough defeated Coventry 4 – 1, Elliott would go undefeated on the day after winning his match 11-5, 11-6.
