The Bermuda Squash Racquets Association has released a statement regarding Emma Kean’s participation at the Commonwealth Games.
“Emma Keane played world #62 Georgia Adderley yesterday, who was our Bermuda Open 2022 runner-up. Keane, unfortunately, lost 3 – 0, however, the score doesn’t reflect how much improvement Keane has made in preparation for the games.
She competed valiantly against a tough opponent, gaining valuable experience for the future. Unfortunately, Keane suffered a ligament tear in her ankle halfway through the second game after a slip on the court.
She managed to finish the match before soon feeling the pain once the adrenaline subsided. Due to this injury, Keane has been forced to withdraw from the plate, therefore sadly ending her time on the court at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
Let’s all join in wishing her a speedy recovery and congratulate her on a hugely successful journey to make it here.”
