Fulton Represents Surf Select in Easter International Cup

IslandStats.com
Following on the heels of the success with Xhavi DeRoza and Alexander Rymon-Lipinski at the Jefferson Cup, Warwick Archers (Robin Hood Youth Program) announced that Luke Fulton has travelled to Orlando, Florida to guest play with the Surf Select Boys 2006 White team at the Easter International Cup. The Surf team features players from California, Puerto Rico, New Jersey, Texas, and Bermuda.

The opportunity for Fulton to participate is a continuation of the partnership the Warwick Archers have developed with the International Development Academy, to provide exposure for players at international events. IDA helps student-athletes find football & educational pathways that’s the right fit for them, building an environment for growth, development, and success on and off the field. They offer unique college placement services and have a residential program in Spain, Italy, England and the United States.

The Easter International Cup is a 4-day Boys and Girls Tournament that provides a high-level of soccer competition for ages Under 10 to Under 19 Boys and Girls. Teams are represented from across the USA and include Major League Soccer (MLS) academy and elite youth club teams. The tournament draws an extensive list of college coaches who attend to identify possible recruits for their programs.

Fulton is a central defender and member of the U15 Lee Holder Championship Warwick Archers team. He attends Warwick Academy and is a member of the BFA National Academy program. The Surf played their first group match against a combined RAYADOS CHICAGO & INDIANA RAYADOS 2006 select. Rayados would edge out Surf 1 - 0 in the opening game.

The Warwick Archers program director, Richard Todd, commented on Luke’s participation at the event, “The partnership with IDA continues to provide valuable experiences for our players. Not only are they getting opportunities to travel and compete against elite teams, but the friendships and exposure that comes along with guest playing with the Surf teams can result in future opportunities for recruitment to collegiate programs, and the development of lasting friendships with players from other countries. Luke is a solid defensive player and has already impressed the Surf coaches with his contributions to the team’s performances. We look forward to continuing partnering with IDA for guest players in future events.”
