Coddington Watches West Ham Fall to Arsenal in Youth Cup

IslandStats.com
Remy Coddington was an unused substitute as West Ham United Under 18’ Youth Cup went down 3 – 1 to Arsenal in the Fifth Round.

West Ham United U18s, advanced to the fifth round after overcoming Luton Town and Norwich City Under 18’s at Kenilworth and Carrow Roads respectively.

West Ham United have grown into this one, and began to see a lot more of a territorial advantage as the half wore on - but it's Arsenal who have the lead at the breakthrough an Omari Hutchinson goal.

In the 26th minute Arsenal took the lead, Marcelo Flores did well to beat Regan Clayton down the right-hand side and cut it back inside for Hutchison, who hits a precise low finish in off the far post.

Arsenal doubled their lead in the 48th minute, Hutchison cut inside and smashed a dipping drive which was deflected onto the post off Michael Forbes, and Khayon Edwards reacted quickest for Arsenal to tap the loose ball in.

In the 80th minute, Arsenal was awarded a Penalty, with Jamal Baptiste receiving a red card, the defender made a desperate lunging tackle as Hutchinson ran clean through on goal, and brought the Arsenal man down, Hutchinson's penalty squeezes under Krisztian Hegyi's grasp to make it 3 – 0.

In the 84th minute, West Ham United pulled a goal back, Ademipo Odubeko picked off a loose back pass and squared for Fabrice Mubama, who scored at the second time of asking.

Two fantastic football teams on show tonight, but sadly, it was Arsenal who made their chances in front of goal count tonight.
