Player With Bermuda Ties Selected by USA

While we await the announcement of the Bermuda Women’s Under 17 National team, www.islandstats.com can report that a player with Bermuda ties will lead the United States Under 17 Women’s team during the CONCACAF Women’s Under 17 Championships in Nicaragua.

The tournament will send the top three finishers to the 2018 FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup being held in Uruguay from November 13th - December 1st.

Mia Fishel who’s father Patrick Fishel is Bermudian has been named in the team as a midfielder.

The Americans have been seeded into Group B, where they will face Costa Rica, Bermuda and Canada. The USA opens the tournament on April 20th against Costa Rica, faces Bermuda on April 22nd and will play Canada on April 24th in the Group B final. All of the USA’s group matches kick off at 9pm local.

The match against Bermuda marks the first time a U.S. Women’s National Team has played the island nation at any level. These will also be the first U.S. WNT matches at any age level played in Nicaragua.
